First Solar (FSLR)

Jan 25, 2021Trade Ideas

If you’re looking for some of the hottest trades on market, just look at solar companies.

With Joe Biden in the White House, we just rejoined the Paris Accord. Plus, Biden already laid out a $2 trillion clean energy infrastructure plan, with hopes for net zero emissions by 2050. In addition, he has said he wants to “upgrade four million buildings and two million homes over four years to meet new energy efficiency standards,” as noted by The Conversation.

You can still buy a solar stock like SunPower (SPWR), which we highlighted Friday. It’s still running higher. Or, you can buy other industry heavyweights, like First Solar (FSLR), which pulled back about 2% today. With substantial catalysts ahead of it, the stock could see brighter days ahead. We simply saw some profit taking today.

You can buy the FSLR stock at market, and, or buy to open the FSLR March 19, 2021 105 calls at market. You can also hedge with the FSLR March 19, 2021 100 puts.
